JUVENILES

Juveniles require court appearance. All juveniles (ages 10 to 16) must appear in person in court with a parent or legal guardian and cannot dispose of any case by mail or without an appearance. You may NOT prepay your fine. A juvenile who fails to appear in court may have his/her Driver’s License suspended. Also, a child and parent required to appear before the Court have an obligation to provide the Court in writing with the current address and residence of the child, the obligation does not end when the child reaches age 17. Before the seventh day, after the date the child or parent changes residence, the child or parent SHALL notify the Court of the current address. A violation of this subsection may result in arrest and is a Class C misdemeanor. The obligation to provide notice terminates on discharge and satisfaction of the judgment or final disposition not requiring a finding of guilt. All persons under 21 charged with an alcohol related offense or public intoxication must appear in court in person.

Be advised that voluntary payment by mail, phone or online will result in a conviction and will be reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety and forfeits any right to request a driving safety class or deferred disposition for possible dismissal of your citation.

Please carefully consider all your options before remitting payment in full for any citation.
