July Riverside Programs
Riverside Park – Tejas Pavilion
Assistant Park Ranger Rachael has come up with a great line up of fun and educational programs to keep you occupied. Programs are offered Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the mornings and afternoons.
Programs include:
Nature walks – learn about the trees, plants and critters that live at Riverside Park
Archery – learn the basics of shooting bows and arrows
Bow Hunting – learn the basics of hunting with a bow and arrow
Solar Oven Cook – how to cook using the sun and a cardboard box
Fish Prints – the ancient Japanese art of printing fish
Kite Making – how to make and fly kites
No Sew Bags – how to make a re-usable bag without sewing
Tie Dye – color fabric by twisting and folding fabric to make “groovy” designs
All About Owls – learn about owls and their habitats by dissecting their “pellets”
Scavenger Hunts – search out and find clues in the park
Programs are limited to 15 people and for ages 5 – 18 years old. Programs fees are $3 - $5 each. Fish Prints, Tie Dye and No Sew Bags cost includes a shirt. Non-campers will pay Day Use fee of $8/car in addition to per person fees.
