If you own a car, there is a two part process to getting your driver's license in Texas. First, if you own a vehicle, you need to register your vehicle at the Tax Assessor's office at the Matagorda County Courthouse. Your auto will also need to pass an inspection before it can be registered, and you will need to provide proof that you have insurance. Once your vehicle is registered, you will be able to get your Texas license plates.
Once you have your vehicle registration, you are ready to head over to the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) office to get your Texas driver's license.
