Jim Folse

Jim Folse, City Council Member - Position 2

Jim Folse has lived in Bay City for over 31 years and is proud to call Bay City and Matagorda County home. He and his wife raised their family here and now enjoy watching their grandchildren grow up in Bay City as well. Jim and Chrystal owned three small businesses in Bay City; Kutting Up Hair Salon, GC Sports and Folse Consulting. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science and Associates of Applied Science with a concentration in Instrumentation. He worked in the Nuclear Power Industry for 12 years, 9 of them spent at South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company in Bay City. Jim then went on to the Computer Industry implementing software at fortune 500 companies for 22 years.  Jim’s roots are planted here and he has no wish to be anywhere else but Bay City. Once he retires, this is where he will stay. 

Community Service

Jim enjoys being involved in his community having served in several different capacities. He’s volunteered alongside the following non-profit community organizations:

• Bay City Lion’s Club, Lion's Club International
• Bay City Lion's Club Rice Festival
• Matagorda County Relay for Life, American Cancer Society
• Bay City Girls Softball League 
• Bay City Girls in Scouting/ Bay City Girl Scouts Club
• Texas Trio Classic Fishing Tournament, Fish for a Cure
