The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Crime Records Service has established a website which serves as the official Internet source for Sex Offender Registration information. The Sex Offender Registration open record information is extracted from DPS Sex Offender Registration Database. The DPS maintains files based on registration information submitted by criminal justice agencies and represents a statewide source of information on sex offenders required by law to register.
Local residents are able to search this open records database to determine whether a particular person is a registered sex offender or whether a registered sex offender lives within their zip code.
