Vendor's & Peddler's License

Vendor’s/Peddler’s License are required for any and all persons who are not residents of, or whose business is not located in Matagorda County.  The license application requires and must include all of the following:

  •  An application for each individual selling (not per business) Vendor Permit Application
  • A Texas State Sales Tax I.D. permit issued by the State Comptroller’s Office 1-800-252-5555.
  • A Photo ID.
  • Copy of license/permit from the Matagorda County Environmental Services (Health Department) if selling food items (including produce) 979-244-2717.
  • A vendor's bond from a local (Bay City or affiliated) insurance company in the amount of $3,000 Bond or a blanket bond to cover a group. The City Attorney has to approve said bond.
  • Criminal History check by the Bay City Police Department.
  • Two (2) passport size color photos.

Fees:      

$50.00 per person, per month; OR
$70.00 per person, per year

Vendor’s who are residents of and/or whose business is located in Matagorda County that will be selling any type of food or produce, are required to comply with the licensing/permitting policies of the Matagorda County Environmental Services; (979) 244-2717.
